A man stopped by his friend’s house one afternoon and rang the doorbell.
His friend’s wife answered.
“Hi, is Tony home?” he asked.
“No,” she replied. “He went to the store.”
The man nodded.
“Well, do you mind if I wait for him?”
“Not at all. Come in.”
She invited him inside, and the two sat down while they waited for Tony to return.
At first, everything was perfectly ordinary.
They chatted for a while, but Tony still hadn’t come home.
Then the man looked at his friend’s wife and decided to make an unusual proposition.
“You know,” he said, “you have a very beautiful figure. I’d give you $100 if you let me take a look at your chest.”
The woman was caught completely off guard.
She thought about the offer for a moment.
A hundred dollars was a hundred dollars.
Eventually, she agreed.
The man handed her the money, she briefly opened her robe, and he got the look he had paid for.
Then they went back to sitting and waiting.
The woman probably thought that was the end of the strange little exchange.
It wasn’t.
After another few minutes, the man made her another offer.
“I have to admit, that was worth it,” he said. “I’d give you another $100 if I could see both.”
Once again, the woman considered it.
Another hundred dollars sounded pretty good.
So she accepted.
He paid her the second $100, got his look, thanked her, and eventually decided it was time to leave.
Not long afterward, Tony finally returned home.
His wife greeted him and casually mentioned that his friend had stopped by while he was gone.
“Your friend Chris came over,” she told him.
Tony paused for a moment.
Then he asked a question that completely changed the meaning of what had just happened.
“Did he happen to give you the $200 he owes me?”
His wife froze.
Suddenly, those two hundred dollars looked very different.
The friend hadn’t simply found a way to spend an afternoon waiting for Tony.
He had apparently found a very creative way to pay off an old debt.
And Tony’s question was the perfect final twist—because while everyone else thought the man had just spent $200, Tony already knew exactly where that money was supposed to go.
