I work in a music store when CDs are still a popular form of music purchase. A customer comes in and places a CD on the counter.
Customer: “I want to return this CD.”
Me: “I’m afraid that for CDs we can only replace them if there’s a defect. We can’t do returns.”
Customer: “That’s stupid! You’re just being lazy.”
Me: “It’s our written return policy. It’s actually written on your receipt, if you look—”
Customer: “—Do I need to come behind the counter and teach you how to do your job?”
Me: “Do I need to come in front of the counter and teach you how to read?”
Customer: “Where’s your manager?!”
I point to my name tag that has ‘Manager’ written on it.
Me: “I guess I do.”
He swore and stormed out.
